Code of Conduct
Before outside college-affiliated members dance within the community, we would like to remind everyone of the rules, our requests, and guidelines to keep everyone safe & comfortable.

Bryn Mawr Tango promotes a safe and friendly community, with policies that should not be abused. Some boundaries are non-negotiable and will apply to everyone regardless of, and not limited to, age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, profession, and dance skills.
Do’s
Be welcome to new members visiting the community & respect the members of the existing club.
Share information that only you are comfortable in giving out.
Always ask consent in close embrace.
We always welcome role-switching so feel free to ask the person before dancing together.
Be mindful about your personal grooming (yes to breath mint, yes to moderate deodorant, and no to excessive fragrances).
You are allowed to say no to anyone who makes you unconfortable, please feel free to reach out to e-board members if you have any worries.

Don’ts
Be respectful of personal boundaries & making everyone feel comfortable.
DO NOT force/encourage a beginner into being in close embrace, leg wraps/ganchos, sacadas if they are not comfortable and/or do not know them.
Harassment of any form is prohibited, all kinds, verbal or physical.
Any form of non-consensual touching beyond the tango embrace is not allowed.
Excessive teaching on the dance floor is not allowed. Please refrain from that during the milonga.
Instructing and tips can be given off to the side, OFF the dance floor.
Be respectful to all levels, either leading or following.
